MICHAEL
Michael comes from Cobh (Cove), Cork, on the south coast of Ireland. Cork harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world and serves as a key trading ports on the South Coast - as was Lyme Regis from the 1250s onward.
Michael was interested in shipping and history from an early age - looking out his front window overlooking the mouth of the harbour - romanticizing of old ships, pirate stories and fisherman's tales he'd spend hours listening to in The Anchor Bar, the pub and house he grew up in.
Michael worked in Cobh museum where he broadened his historical view of the world, with research and reading becoming part of his everyday life. Michael was credited with the idea of a booklet titled Great Island Touring (1993).
